  • You don't have to have read de Sade to appreciate this book if you've ever been curious. I'm normally put off by academic writing but this was extremely accessible in a good way that still challenges you. If you've ever been curious about the Marquis or critical receptions of him, or enjoy him and have trouble defending the violence in his work I highly recommend these essays. I even tried to find a copy for myself but of course it's fucking 70 bucks for that shit. I'll be taking a lot of notes. [...]
